Fans of Only Murders in the Building received exciting news in 2023 when season 4 was officially announced. Starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin as three best friends Mabel Mora, Charles-Haden Savage and Oliver Putnam, the trio has successfully kept the audiences hooked since its debut. Set in New York, US, the series follows three strangers who bond over their love for true crime stories. Meanwhile, as the filming for the new season is underway, Steve dropped an exciting update on production. According to him, half of the season has already been shot. The veteran actor also promised and teased that the upcoming season will be even more thrilling than before.
While the cast is busy filming the series in NYC, speaking about the new season, Steve told People, “It’s star-studded and I’m going to say we’re about halfway through, and we are really enjoying this season. We think it could be one of our best seasons. Although they’re all flawless.”
Earlier, Only Murders in the Building showrunner John Hoffman speaking with The Hollywood Reporter shared that season 4 will explore consequences. He said, “I think the idea of what you create is a thing you put out to the world and sometimes you can’t be prepared for the repercussions of what potentially the world does with your thing, and how they feel about it.”
“That’s a challenging line to walk, and sometimes you have to face it in that way. So, the podcast and everything else that’s happened, and what it all means, and what it could have been meaning all along. That’s a really interesting world to look at for these three who stepped in that way,” Hoffman added.
Meanwhile, the season 3 finale left viewers on the edge of their seats as Jane Lynch’s character, Sazz Pataki, was shot dead. In the upcoming season, fans can expect Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short to go on a journey to find the mystery surrounding Sazz’s death, questioning whether the bullet was meant for Charles and the motive behind the attack. Other than Selena, Steve and Martin, season 4 will feature familiar faces like Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, Michael Cyril Creighton, Ryan Broussard, Jackie Hoffman, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Jason Veasey and James Caverly from previous seasons, along with the introduction of new characters played by Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis and Molly Shannon
