Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and his wife journalist Supriya Menon celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on April 25. Supriya Menon, a renowned journalist with NDTV back then, found herself deputed to cover Malayali cinema.
Despite her limited knowledge of the industry, she sought help from a colleague who provided her with the contact of a rising Malayali actor – none other than Prithviraj. During a talk at the TiE Kerala Women Conference in Kochi, Supriya shared the tale of her initial meetup with Prithviraj. At that conference, she highlighted the interesting beginning of their connection. Supriya said that fortunately, a fellow journalist came to her rescue. According to Supriya, that friend provided her with the contact number of a young actor, advising her to reach out as he might help. She said that a single phone call ended up altering the trajectory of her life. “Thanks to my friend’s introduction, I connected with my future husband, Prithviraj Sukumaran”, she ended the conversation on this note.
They became close friends through their constant trips to many famous places in Mumbai like Haji Ali, Leopold Cafe, etc. and after four years of dating, married in 2011. After three years of marriage, they embraced parenthood and welcomed their daughter, Alankrita Menon Prithviraj, in 2014. The couple adores their girl, showering her with love.
