The Awasthi family is back to take you down the road of nostalgia. Amazon Mini TV’s Yeh Meri Family is back with this fourth season and the creators have dropped the trailer. Yeh Meri Family’s nostalgic 90s element was relatable to the viewers when it was first released in 2018. After a successful three-season run, the show returned to entertain once again with its slice-of-life tale about a middle class family who face life challenges together.
Set in the monsoon of 1995, the fourth season delves deeper into the Awasthi family’s everyday activities, with a focus on the bond between siblings Rishi and Ritika. The trailer begins with the everyday chaos at the Awasthi household and highlights a common disagreement between Neerja and her daughter Ritika about food. While the mother has already prepared the tiffin, the daughter demands noodles.
Aside from that, they argue over bringing a puppy home. It also gives a glimpse of the fun banter among the siblings and the pranks they try on each other. The trailer was shared on the official handle of Amazon MiniTV with the caption, “Awasthi parivaar ek baar firse aa gaya hai iss baar apne saath monsoon ki masti lekar! excited ho inse milne?”
The new season, produced by TVF, features the fan favourites cast members – Juhi Parmar as Neerja, Rajesh Kumar as Sanjay, Angaad Raj as Rishu, Hetal Gada as Rishu’s sister Ritika and Veena Mehta as the grandmother. Speaking about her character and latest season, Juhi Parman said, “Neerja has been loved so much, and I feel so grateful that I have had a character that takes us down nostalgia lanes as my debut to OTT. People have loved the simplicity of Neerja, and as strict as she is on the outside, there’s a softness to her that every mother and woman in our country can relate to.”
The actress further stated she was glad that Yeh Meri Family was allowing us to reconnect with our audience about the simple joys of life that used to exist back in the 90s.
The upcoming season will premiere exclusively on Amazon MiniTV on August 16. The third season of Yeh Meri Family was released in April this year and was met with favourable reviews.
