Ananya Panday has come a long way in showbiz. The actress who made her debut back in 2019 is now gearing up for her 7th film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. Revisiting her career, Ananya recently confessed that she used to seek validation as an actress earlier.
In an interview with Indian Express, Ananya shared that in her earlier days in showbiz, she found herself being a ‘people pleaser’, like her father Chunky Panday. “My dad’s a people pleaser, everywhere he goes, he wants people to talk about him and love him. I am exactly like him. When I started out, I was like, ‘Everyone has to love me’ and I couldn’t understand why everyone didn’t love me. It wasn’t coming from a space of thinking myself too be someone great but just that I am nice, I am a nice person, my friends and family like me, why doesn’t everyone?,” Ananya shared.
Ananya also shared that her outlook towards things have changed now and that she has realised overtime that is impossible to make everyone happy. “Today, my goals have shifted and so have the way I look at things. It happened only this year. I don’t want to sound like Orry– but I do just want to work on myself and want to get better. I want to be a good person, go to sleep thinking I did well at work, that I learnt something new. My priorities have shifted,” she added.
In Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Ananya will be seen sharing screen space with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan promises to be a cinematic celebration of the unadulterated essence of friendship which has been helmed by Arjun Varain Singh. The film is a ‘coming-of-digital-age’ story about three friends in their mid-20s navigating life in the world of social media.
Set in Mumbai, this refreshing narrative of three friends is brought to life by the creative forces, known for exploring different facets of friendship, Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar in collaboration with Tiger Baby’s Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan chronicles the lives of Imaad (Siddhant Chaturvedi), Ahana (Ananya Panday) and Neil (Adarsh Gourav), through the very relatable journey of three best friends- together navigating aspirations, relationships and emotions.
The movie is all set to release on Netflix on December 26.
