In a recently surfaced online video, a spine-chilling incident unfolded in Maharashtra’s Thane. The footage showcases a colossal snake, reportedly identified as an Albino Burmese Python, at a residential building in the city. The recorded scene captures this massive snake hanging from the iron window grill of what appears to be a residential apartment. On the scene, two men are seen meticulously involved in a rescue operation.

While the video does not confirm if the men were professional rescuers, the caption emphasises their impressive skills in executing the rescue operation.

This incident took place in Thane’s Naupada area. The video itself has garnered substantial attention, amassing over 5 lakh views on X (formerly known as Twitter). A plethora of reactions has emerged in the comments section, with some observers expressing astonishment at the snake’s immense size, while others pondered the circumstances that led it to dangle from a window.

A user suggested that someone within the vicinity of the building might be engaged in the breeding of these reptiles. The person wrote, “100% a pet. Some underground dealer of exotic reptiles is probably residing nearby. Police should investigate.”

The X user, Sneha, who originally uploaded the video, told Money Control that she received the video from a local resident residing in the Naupada area of Thane. The snake’s sighting occurred in the evening following a bout of heavy rainfall in the region.

This particular variety of snake which looks like an Albino Burmese Python, is categorised as rare within its species. From unbelievably flexible jaws to rows of razor-sharp teeth, a range of impressive features make the python one of nature’s most formidable predators.
