Amazon Prime Video dropped its popular series Panchayat on Saturday, unveiling the show’s first look on social media. The featured image captures the actor, portraying the Panchayat Secretary, riding a motorcycle with bags strapped on his back. It remains uncertain if this signifies his departure from the Phulera village. The makers are yet to announce the show’s release date.
The subsequent photo in the post showcases other characters from the series, including Banrakas, Vinod, and Madhav, played by Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, and Bulloo Kumar, respectively. They are seated on a bench against a wall bearing the words, “Thokar lagti hai to dard hota hai, tabhi manushya seekh pata hai (Failures might hurt you, but you learn from your failures).”
The photos were shared on the official Instagram account of Prime Video with the caption, “We know the wait is unbearable, so we got you a lil something from the sets! #PanchayatOnPrime Season 3.”
During November, Neena Gupta, portraying the character of Manju Devi, shared a video from the series’ wrap-up party. The footage featured her alongside her on-screen husband, the seasoned actor Raghubir Yadav. Neena captioned the post, saying, “Wrap up of the 3rd season of Panchayat!”
TVF’s Panchayat Season 2 secured the Best Web Series (OTT) Award at the 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). This category, introduced for the first time, saw Panchayat 2 as the inaugural winner.
The narrative follows the story of an engineering graduate compelled to become a panchayat secretary in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh, due to limited job opportunities. The show’s initial season premiered on Prime Video in April 2020 during the Covid lockdown, garnering a lot of acclaim.
