Shah Rukh Khan Creates History As Dunki Earns $5 Million In North America; Here's How

Rajkumar Hirani’s film, Dunki, has undeniably made a significant impact on the hearts of the audience with its heartwarming story. The film has been immensely loved by family audiences worldwide, leaving viewers of all age groups impressed. Especially, the NRI audience is fondly relating to the film, contributing to its global success and making it a box office hit. The evidence of this success is apparent as Dunki has now crossed the $5 million (close to Rs 34 crore) gross mark in North America.

Earlier this year, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan also crossed the $5 million mark in North America. This means that SRK now has three films that have crossed the mark in a single year. With this, King Khan has become the first actor in the history of Indian cinema to deliver three $5+ million grosses in a single calendar year in North America.

Released on December 21, Dunki features an ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover along with Shah Rukh Khan. The film follows the emotional journey of a group of friends who want to move abroad. The plot follows the exciting journey of those who choose an unconventional route known as the Donkey Flight, showing the difficulties they face on their way.

Meanwhile, a special screening of Dunki will be held in Mumbai today i.e. on December 28 for representatives of several countries, including the US, the UK, France, South Korea and Australia. The representatives of Belgium, Germany, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, Turkey, and the Netherlands are also expected to attend the event.
