Soni Razdan Gets Trolled For Saying She Couldn't Afford 1st Class Tickets For Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt’s mom Soni Razdan recollected the time when she couldn’t afford 1st class tickets for them. The actress shared that she chose a first class ticket for herself, while her daughters flew in the economy class due to financial constraints. In a new interview she shared that her daughters had a middle class upbringing devoid of excess wealth and luxury.

While having a conversation with Rashmi Uchil for her book Raising Stars, Soni Razdan recollected one of her Dubai trips with daughters, Alia and Shaheen. She shared that they couldn’t afford three business class tickets “I told my children, ‘I will travel first class, and you guys travel economy.’ They made a face”, Soni recalled.

Her interview went viral, with netizens being quite amused with her statement. One of them took to the comments section and wrote, ‘Why rich people sound so… Its like they have zero idea what the outside world is like.’ Another one wrote, ‘She should’ve also joined them in economy class. Money saved.’

Remembering the past, the Pippa actress shared a story. On a flight, her daughters faced discomfort when the person in front reclined, but they didn’t complain. she further explained why she wanted her kids to travel in economy class. Soni stressed on the fact that they hadn’t earned enough to be worthy of a business class seat.

Recollecting their financial circumstances, Soni added that while they never had abundance, they managed everything. She shared that her kids were raised with good values, along with a middle class upbringing.

They lived in a two-bedroom apartment with a Maruti Zen, where she personally drove them to school.

Soni Razdan is an Indian-British actress and director. She has worked in the Indian film industry, primarily in Hindi films, and is known for her performances in both supporting and leading roles. Apart from acting, she has also directed a few films. She married Mahesh Bhatt back in April 1986.
