India’s leading payments and financial services company, Paytm has been a boon for small businesses and vendors. The company has enabled merchants to power their businesses through its wide array of offline and online payments services that helps them with versatile solutions to scale their business.
This was highlighted in a YouTube shots video where Paytm’s iconic QR code can be seen at a coconut water (naariyal paani) seller for accepting payments. In the video shared by content creators ‘mannu and pannu’, titled ‘Paytm accepted all over India’, a boy holds up Paytm’s Photo QR being used by the coconut water seller.
Hailing cashless India, the video’s narrator praises superfast payments through the Paytm QR code because of which people don’t have to carry money in their wallets. With its technology-led innovative solutions, Paytm has ensured convenient, seamless and secure payments, forever changing the way India conducts transactions.
It was Paytm that introduced India to QR code in 2015 and has come such a long way since then that ‘Paytm karo’ has become a verb for mobile and QR payments. The company’s Photo QRs have allowed merchants to add a personal touch, facilitating them to build a brand identity.
With a stronghold in offline payments, Paytm continues to be the market leader with merchants paying subscription (for payment devices) exceeding 5.1 million. According to its Q2FY23 earnings release, the company’s revenue has surged 76% to ₹1,914 Cr driven by increase in merchant subscription revenues, growth in bill payments due to growing monthly transacting users (MTU) and growth in disbursements of loans through its platform.
