Veteran actress Zeenat Aman is known for her work in critically-acclaimed films like Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Yaadon Ki Baraat, Pukar, Jagir, Teesri Aankh and several others. The 71-years old actress who was last seen in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat made her Instagram debut a few months back and ever since then, fans eagerly look forward to her musings on different topics. While the evergreen actress has gone candid about many aspects of her career, in her latest post, Zeenat Aman, shared an anecdote from the very first day that I walked onto a set in 1970.

In the photo, Zeenat sports poofy hair, an exaggerated collar on a metallic finish jacket. “Poofy hair, an exaggerated collar, and a whole lot of sparkles. This picture just has to be from the 80s. It was one of those test shoots one does for fun, and that snazzy jacket was my prized possession at the time,” she wrote.

She then went on to share an anecdote from her first day on a set and the fact that it wad nothing like she had imagined. “Let me rewind a little further and share an anecdote. The very first day that I walked onto a set in 1970, I looked around and was taken aback by how dull it all was. Wires snaked across the floor, heavy camera machinery was propped up on rusty trolleys, men ran hither and thither shouting instructions and ferrying supplies. It was nothing like I had imagined,” she wrote.

When Zeenat Aman looked around the lackluster set, she was thrown off. “But where’s the glamour?” I exclaimed. OP Ralhan, my director, just smirked and drawled, “Babusha, YOU are the glamour,” she wrote.

Zeenat began her career as a model and then went on to become an actress, starring in several movies. She is known for her films such as Don, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Samraat, Laawaris and many more. Apart from being lauded for her acting prowess, Zeenat Aman’s style was equally daring, and she is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Bollywood fashion history.
