The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow is expected to release the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 answer key for the exam, which was conducted on November 26. However, an official statement on the CAT 2023 answer key’s release has not yet been issued. According to media reports, the answer key is likely to be released today, November 30. The CAT answer key is expected shortly after the tests are administered, according to the previous year’s patterns. The official CAT 2023 website, iimcat.ac.in, is where candidates can check their results or receive individualised scorecards via SMS. As per the specifications of the CAT 2023, the answer keys would be available in PDF format.
After the answer key is made public, the CAT 2023 objection window will start, and candidates will have three to four days to evaluate the provisional answer key and raise objections.
This year, around 2.88 lakh out of a total of 3.28 lakh registered applicants took the CAT 2023 for admission to PG management programmes provided by IIMs throughout India. It was observed that about 88 per cent of candidates showed up on November 26 for the CAT 2023, recording a 1 per cent increase over the number of attendees in 2022.
CAT 2023 ANSWER KEY: HOW TO CHECK
After the CAT 2023 answer key is released, candidates will be able to access it by following the steps provided below.
Step 1: Navigate to the official CAT 2023 website at iimcat.ac.in.
Step 2: Locate the CAT 2023 answer key link on the main website.
Step 3: Log in using your application ID and password.
Step 4: Each slot’s answer key will be displayed on the screen.
Step 5: Review the CAT 2023 answer key and download a copy for future reference.
According to the IIM CAT marking methodology, applicants receive three marks for each correct answer and one mark is deducted for each wrong response in MCQs. Non-MCQ incorrect responses or unanswered questions are not subjected to negative marking.
The CAT 2023 results will be made public by IIM Lucknow during the second week of January 2024, per the information bulletin on the official website. The results, which will be shown as CAT 2023 percentiles, will be decided based on factors such as the exam’s difficulty threshold, the volume of applications, and other pertinent aspects. It is worth mentioning that the testing authority will employ a normalisation process to establish each candidate’s percentile score, ensuring objectivity in evaluation.
