Cold Wave Sweeps Delhi, Minimum Temp Dips to 3.4 Degrees C; Winters May Intensify Post Dec 26
The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 22 degree C with mainly clear skies and mist. Another cold spell is expected to hit Delhi-NCR after December 26.

A ‘biting’ cold wave continues in the national capital even as the minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 3.4 degree celsius. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 22 degree C with mainly clear skies and mist. Another cold spell is expected to hit Delhi-NCR after December 26.

“The minimum temperatures may increase marginally until December 26. However, north-westerly winds coming from Western Himalayan Region will intensify the cold day conditions,” said Kuldeep Shrivastava, Regional head of the IMD.

“After 26th, the temperatures might fall further because of the effect of an active western disturbance, this will be another cold spell when we are expecting cold day to severe cold day conditions in isolated pockets and parts of Delhi,” he said.

With unfavorable meteorological conditions like single digit temperatures and relatively calm wind speed, the Air Quality Index has also worsened in Delhi-NCR as the current overall Air Quality Index in Delhi stood at 306 in the ‘very poor’ category.
