Hyderabad: In a major relief for Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has stayed a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe against him.
The High Court, in an interim order, stayed the investigation till further orders.
The court was hearing a vacation plea filed by the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister.
In November, the CBI had registered a Preliminary Enquiry to probe alleged disproportionate assets amassed by the TDP chief and 12 others, following a directive of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on November 14.
The petition in this regard was filed by VS Vijayamma, widow of Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy.
The Supreme Court had later on November 23 refused to stay the CBI probe into alleged disproportionate assets of Naidu but granted him liberty to approach the state High Court for modification or vacation of its interim order.
