New Delhi: With the Bharatiya Janata Party's frequency of attacks increasing by the day on Robert Vadra, Congress on Sunday said that the principal opposition was scared of Priyanka Gandhi and hence was attacking her husband.
Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi while speaking to CNN-IBN said that the BJP is scared of Priyanka and that is the reason behind these attacks during the election season.
Priyanka had earlier in the day came to the defence of her husband after the BJP released a video targeting him and his alleged corrupt land deals. She had reacted strongly to the allegations saying that she was not scared of the BJP or its politics.
BJP had accused the Congress-ruled state governments of covering up for Vadra's fraudulent land deals in Haryana and Rajasthan. Reacting to this, Singhvi noted that Rajasthan was under BJP rule now. "Your CM is not doing anything, inquiry is not completed; you are afraid of Priyanka Gandhi that is why making allegation at the time of election," said Singhvi.
BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad hit back at this claiming that the Rajasthan government was not sitting back on Vadra's issue. He said, "All the facts are being collected and then fair enquiry will be conducted,"
The BJP had earlier in the day stirred a hornet's nest by releasing a video in which it targeted Vadra and his alleged corrupt land deals. Demanding a reply from Congress President and Vice President, it had also asked Priyanka to explain Vadra's business model.
