Congress rules out threat to UPA from DMK
DMK MPs were in full strength in the House today, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said.

New Delhi: The Congress on Friday ruled out any threat to the government over DMK's attempts to corner it on the issue of alleged human rights violations against Tamils in Sri Lanka.

"I do not see any such possibility. DMK MPs were in full strength in the House today," party spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters when asked whether there was any threat to UPA from DMK MPs.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a leader dismissed the possibility of DMK Ministers' resignations on March 23 when the US-sponsored resolution against Sri Lanka on alleged war crimes, which they want the government to support, comes up before the UN.

"There will not be any resignation," he said. MPs from Tamil Nadu have been pressuring the government to back the resolution categorically. The government has so far been advocating a cautious approach.
