Congress says Rahul's campaign not inspired by Modi, won't drop it
Congress said that their tagline has always been 'power and development' and added that even more ads will be released soon.

New Delhi: A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the Congress of copying their two-year-old campaign, the Congress downplayed the incident saying the advertisement was not plagiarised and will not be dropped.

The Congress in its defense said that their main tagline has always been 'power and development' and added that even more ads will be released soon.

The BJP had accused the Congress of deliberately copying the phrase 'Not I, We', in an advertisement that appeared in the national dailies on Friday featuring Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi. The tagline resembled the one used by BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in 2011.

The slogan 'Main Nahi, Hum' had been coined by the BJP leader in 2011 for a "Chintan Shivir" in Gujarat.
