Sources say that the Congress will seek amendments to some clauses like the veto clause.

New Delhi: As the government hopes to pass the Judicial Appointments Bill on Tuesday, the Congress is likely to support the Bill, say sources. However, sources say that the Congress will seek amendments to some clauses like the veto clause.

"Barring two clauses, we support the Bill. Why should the government extend the session," said Congress leaders Rajiv Shukla.

On Tuesday, the Bill proposing to replace the collegium system of appointment of judges and creating a Judicial Appointments Commission was tabled in the Lok Sabha. Most parties have pledged their support for the Bill.
