New Delhi: The Delhi High Court granted interim protection against the possible arrest of Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy till January 30 in a case of allegedly writing an 'inflammatory' article against Islam.
Swamy had moved the Delhi High Court seeking anticipatory bail in an FIR registered against him by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police for writing an inflammatory article against Islam in a national daily.
In the article 'Analysis: How to wipe out Islamic terror', published in the DNA on July 16 Swamy has called Islamic terrorism as India's number one problem.
In his plea he had also alleged that the Delhi Police may arrest him at the behest of Home Minister P Chidambaram, which will prevent Swamy from deposing against Chidambaram in the 2G case.
