Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Sunday fired a fresh Salvo on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the appointment of her husband Swaraj Kaushal and daughter Bansuri Swaraj as Standing Counsels in the Supreme Court by the Madhya Pradesh government.
The Congress leader alleged that it was an attempt by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to please the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“The Madhya Pradesh government has the right to choose a lawyer, that's why Sushma is less at fault and Shivraj is more,” said Digvijaya.
The Congress general secretary further asked the Chouhan government to inform how many times was Swaraj engaged and how much he was paid.
The Madhya Pradesh government appointed Swaraj Kaushal as the Senior Standing Counsel in 2009 and Bansuri Swaraj as Junior Standing Counsel in 2013.
