Haryana: BJP prefers non-Jat leader for CM post, say  sources
Haryana has had three consecutive Jat Chief Ministers for 15 years. The last non-jat to become CM of Haryana was Bhajan Lal.

New Delhi: As the race for the post of Haryana CM heats up, BJP sources tell CNN-IBN that the state may get a non-Jat CM after a gap of over two decades.

This indicates that Karnal MLA Manohar Lal Khattar has an edge over Narnaund MLA Captain Abhimanyu who is a popular Jat face in BJP.

Haryana has had three consecutive Jat Chief Ministers for 15 years. The last non-jat to become CM of Haryana was Bhajan Lal.

BJP has won record 47 seats in the Assembly elections this time.
