The Karnataka government is set to hold talks with infotech companies in Bengaluru to stagger office timings next week. Sources said that the government's decision to reshuffle timings is an effort to cut down on traffic congestion during peak hours.

The move came after recent studies have shown that Bengaluru has the one of the lowest average speeds for traffic among the top seven in the country.

BBMP Administrator Vijay Bhaskar has had discussion with a few CEOs of Whitefield and he said that staggering of timings will help reduce congestion. "We have a meeting with the Commerce Association of Whitfield next week. There I will request the association to hold a meeting with all their members and come up with staggered timings. This can' tbe mandated, it has to be self regulatory," the Bhaskar said.
