Move from 'Swaraj to Surajya': Narendra Modi
The Gujarat CM has borrowed from the famous slogan of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, to say 'Give me support, I will give you development'.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday borrowed from the famous slogan of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, to say "Give me support, I will give you development". Remembering Netaji on his birth anniversary, Modi, at the Sadhbhavana fast at Somanth in Junagadh district, said, "Netaji had given the slogan 'Give me blood, I will give you Independence'. Today I give a call: Give me support, I will give you development - to move on from Swaraj to Surajya."

"Netaji stood out as the tallest freedom fighter, who refused to toe the line of one family," Modi said.

"Now that we have attained independence, it is our onerous duty to move on from Swaraj (Self-Rule) to Surajya (Good Governance)," he said.

Modi began his 25th day-long Sadbhavana fast after paying obeisance at Somnath temple on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya.

Speaking in this coastal town, Modi said that Centre was oblivious to the plight of Gujarati fishermen languishing in Pakistani jails.

He announced development works of Rs 1,245 crore for Junagadh district. He had earlier announced a package of Rs 1,100-crore for Junagadh city.
