New Delhi: An election officer who stopped Priyanka Gandhi's husband Robert Vadra from taking out a bike rally in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, has been transferred.

The officer has been transferred to Goa. The Election Commission, however, said that the transfer is routine and based on promotion. It said that the transfer is withheld till the elections are over in UP.

The officer had reportedly stopped Vadra's motorbike rally in Salon area in Amethi. The poll officials stopped the rally as it was using more than the permissible number of vehicles under the model code of conduct.

Vadra was in Amethi for taking part in poll campaigning.
