Sena MP held for making hate speech, granted bail

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was on Friday arrested for violating model code of conduct by allegedly making provocative speech at Kudal in Sindhudurg district, police said.

Raut, who is also executive editor of party's mouth piece Saamana, was arrested at Kudal and released on bail of Rs 15,000, they said.

"He made the speech in a rally last month. We have received a complaint of violation of model code of conduct in this regard," an officer from Kudal police station said.

"Subsequently, we produced him before a local court where he was granted bail," the officer added.
