Uddhav Thackeray's 'January 26' faux pas embarrasses Shiv Sena
The NCP was quick to taunt Uddhav, saying he was influenced by Narendra Modi, who often displayed his lack of knowledge of history.

Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has embarrassed himself by saying that this January 26 would be the last time, when a Congress Prime Minister speaks from the ramparts of the Red Fort in Delhi. Addressing Shiv Sena workers on the birth anniversary of his father Bal Thackeray, he said, "This January 26 will be the last time a Congress PM speaks from the Red Fort."

The NCP was quick with its taunts. It said that Uddav had been influenced by Narendra Modi, which is why he displayed his lack of knowledge of history or tradition.

The Prime Minister addresses the nation on August 15 from the Red Fort. There will be no speech on the Republic Day at Raj Path in New Delhi.

Uddhav, during his speech, attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Congress. Calling Manmohan India's weakest PM, Uddhav said that he doesn't get any respect anywhere.

"At the last minute, they didn't announce Rahul Gandhi"s name as PM candidate. Why would anybody want to become the bali ka bakra (sacrificial lamb)"? he asked, continuing his attack.

What's your reaction?
