As India gears up for their next World Cup fixture, against Bangladesh, in Pune, skipper Rohit Sharma rolled his arms in the nets on Tuesday morning. The men in blue have been undefeated in the ongoing tournament so far and they will look to maintain the streak against Shakib al Hasan-led Bangladesh on Thursday at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Ahead of the game, Rohit was spotted bowling off-spin in the nets where the batter was Ravindra Jadeja.
The video of the net session was shared by the BCCI on its official Instagram handle on Wednesday in which Rohit could be seen bowling full tilt to Jadeja. While the all-rounder danced down the track to smash one of the deliveries, a couple of balls were hit right back to the skipper who didn’t drop the follow-through catch.

“Say hello to off-spinner Rohit Sharma,” the caption of the video read.
Meanwhile, the fans speculated that the Indian skipper might bowl a few overs in the upcoming game against Bangladesh in Pune. Here’s how they reacted:
While announcing the squad for the World Cup, Rohit was asked about the dearth of bowling options in the team during the press conference. In reply, the skipper jokingly said the viewers might get to see him and Virat Kohli bowling some overs in the tournament. Notably, the question was asked before Ravichandran Ashwin made it to the final 15, replacing an injured Axar Patel.
“That was the team of 2011. They had the individuals who could bowl, and who could bat. You have to make do with what you have got. We are giving a chance to whoever is performing well. You cannot create somebody who can bowl overnight. These guys are batters, who can score runs. That is why they are part of the team. But hopefully, Sharma and Kohli can bowl some overs in the World Cup,” Rohit had said, leaving everyone in splits.
Team India will face Bangladesh on Thursday in Pune. If the hosts manage another win, they will inch closer to making a final-4 finish.
