The Tamil TV serial, Ethirneechal, is currently airing on Sun TV. It has garnered a substantial fan base. With its engaging plot, unexpected twists, and commendable performances of the star cast, the serial is winning the hearts of the audience. Actress Kaniha, known for her role as Gunasekaran’s wife in Ethirneechal, is widely appreciated. Her performance in the show has made her well-known among the Tamil-speaking audience. Kaniha entered the Tamil film industry with her debut in the 2002 movie Five Star. She has also worked in Malayalam and Telugu films. Earlier, Kaniha shared her personal experience in an interview with a YouTube channel. Kaniha talked about her mother’s battle with breast cancer in the interview.
“My mother used to talk to us a lot about cancer awareness. Suddenly one day it caught her. One day she called me saying that she felt pain in her breasts. Immediately we went to the hospital and did many tests. Finally she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a real shock to me. Within days our life turned upside down,” said Kaniha.
Kaniha shared the significant impact on her life, as her mother was going through chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Kaniha revealed that, amid the toughest moments, she found solace by shedding tears in the car while listening to music. She expressed the emotional burden of witnessing her mother’s pain throughout the treatment.Kaniha spoke about the tough time she went through when her mother had to undergo a breast amputation for safety reasons. Her revelation is getting a lot of attention on the internet.
Kaniha shot to fame with films including Sye, Bavuttiyude Namathill, and Abhrahaminte Santhathikal. The actress has a few projects in the pipeline including Weapon, Train, and Kural. Written and directed by Guhan Senniappan, Weapon stars Yaashika Aanand, Sathyaraj, and Kaniha in the leading roles. The other cast of the film includes Mime Gopi, Vasanth Ravi, Gajaraj, Rajiv Menon, Shiyas Kareem, and Baraswaj Rangan among others. With music composed by Ghibran, the cinematography of the film is handled by Prabhu Rhagav.
Kaniha got married to Shyam Radhakrishnan in 2008 and the couple has been blessed with a son.
