Actress Dhakshayene is married to an insider from the Tamil TV industry and is a mother to two children. In the 1992, Rajinikanth starrer Annaamalai, she played the role of his daughter, Priya. Apart from Rajinikanth, she has worked with other prominent actors in the Tamil film industry like Manorama, Khushboo, Vijayakanth, Karthik, Radha Ravi, Prabhu and others. Some of her other works include films like Maravan, Ezhai Jaathi, Pangali and Pistha. She was recently seen in the popular Zee Tamil show called Niram Marandha Pookal.

Annamalai was directed by Suresh Krissna and was released on June 27, 1992. The cast of the film included Rajinikanth, Khushbu, Sarath Babu, Rekha, Radha Ravi, Janagaraj and many more. It was produced by Rajam Balachander, Puspha Kandasamy, under the banner of Kavithalayaa Productions. The music in the film was composed by Deva, while the cinematographer was PS Prakash, and the editing was handled by Ganesh Kumar.

After its release, the film was in theatres for 175 days and became the highest-grossing film in the Tamil film industry. It had remakes in Telugu and Kannada, with the titles Kondapalli Raja and Gokarna respectively.
