Facebook has introduced a new feature that allows a user to make a post that's only visible in the News Feed and not in the Timeline.
This feature is being rolled out in a phased manner and only some users are able to see it on their web apps. It will make the Facebook posts look like tweets.
Currently, the News Feed-only feature is being tested only for the web app and not the mobile version. The new ‘Hide From Your Timeline’ check box is not listed when sharing a post from your News Feed, CNet reports.
These posts still show up in search and get listed along with the rest of a user's Facebook activity in the 'Your Posts' page, which is visible only to the user.
Currently, if a user posts anything on the News Feed, it automatically gets reflected on the Timeline and needs to be removed separately if required.
