New Delhi: Motorola's long-awaited 4G version of the flagship Moto E is up for sale on Flipkart starting today. The 4G Moto E was launched in India last week, a month after its 3G variant was introduced.

The 4G version of the new Moto E costs Rs 1,000 more than the base model that carries a price tag of Rs 6,999. The new 4G Moto E is now available on Flipkart in two colour options.

Xiaomi's similarly-specced Redmi 2 (4G variant) is priced at Rs 6,999 against the Rs 7,999 price tag of the new Moto E. Xiaomi so far has only one variant of the Redmi 2 in India. The company aims to soon launch a new model with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can give the Moto E a run for its money.

Among the improvements over the last year's model, the new Moto E has a front-facing camera for selfies. Other improvements include the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop software, a 4.5-inch display (against a 4.3-inch display in the previous model), 2390mAh battery (previously 1980mAh), a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor (up from a dual-core processor) and advanced graphics.

The Moto E 4G variant includes an improved Snapdragon 400 processor, against a Snapdragon 200 in the 3G version.
