Samsung and fire are back in the news once again and it doesn’t sound pretty. The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE reportedly exploded while in use, leading to severe hearing loss for a user who is now seeking assistance. The individual shared their experience on Samsung’s Turkish forum, drawing global attention. According to the post, the user purchased the latest Galaxy Buds FE to pair with the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The earbuds arrived with a 36 percent charge, and the user never charged them afterwards. The incident occurred when his girlfriend borrowed the Galaxy Buds FE to test them out, resulting in the earbuds exploding in her ear and causing significant hearing loss.
The user even included photographs of the damaged earbud in the forum post. The user took the exploded Galaxy Buds FE to a Samsung service centre in Cemalpasa, Adana, after getting in touch with Samsung. “When they saw the headphones, they were shocked and apologised, but that’s where the problem started. Two days later, they called and stated in the report that the headphones had not exploded, only deformed, and offered us a new pair of the same model as a goodwill gesture,” he stated in the post.
They further told him, “Take it or leave it. If you wish, you can pursue your legal rights,” he said.
In his post, the user expressed that he has been grappling with this issue for months. Despite having all the necessary documentation—including the invoice, the date of the explosion, before-and-after images and a medical certificate confirming hearing loss due to the incident—his concerns remain unresolved.https://x.com/WorkaholicDavid/ status/1838330072102768787
According to the photographs shared on the site, only the left earbud exploded. Due to the damage, it appears to have blown up from the tip. There have been reports of multiple occurrences around the world in which consumers died after their Bluetooth headphones exploded.
It is not unusual for electronics to explode. There have been numerous incidents where smartphones exploded and injured their users. Samsung has struggled with exploding batteries previously as well. The Galaxy Note 7 saga is well known and forced the company to cancel the product.
