Bigg Boss 18 is all set to premiere on October 6 and Salman Khan returns as the host. While the viewers waited for the confirmed list of participants, the makers gave a glimpse into the new house for the upcoming season. This time the theme of the show is ‘time ka taandav’ and it is expected to explore the past, present and future. This concept can also be seen in the interiors of the new Bigg Boss house. It takes back viewers to the era of caves and forts.
The first glimpses of the Bigg Boss 18 house were shared on the channel’s official handle. This year, the set is inspired by vintage patterns, detailed sculptures, and a warm, earthy colour palette. The garden area is adorned with large pillars and a path leading to the entrance. The washroom is also quite unique, inspired by a Turkish hammam. The living room combines urban refinement and earthy appeal, with a huge dining table in the centre, while the kitchen has a cave-like ambiance. The bedroom is inspired by a regal fort structure, and the jail area adds an interesting twist to the house’s design. The caption along with the clip stated, “Naye ghar ke saath naye twist, Bigg Boss Jaante Hai ki yeh season rakhega aapko on the edge of your seat!’

The house design took 45 days and employed roughly 200 people, as stated by art director Omung Kumar in conversation with The Indian Express. He also discussed the creative decision to embrace Indian motifs in the design. The art director stated, “This year we decided to do something Indian because it has not been done for a long time. One specification the creative team had was that they wanted levels in the house. India is so beautiful, and we hadn’t tapped into that, so we did that. The entrance is a tribute to the prehistoric era.” He added that there are hidden entrances, and secret doors in the house and contestants can initially get confused.
The reality show will air on Colors TV from Sunday and be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema.
