The internet is full of crime stories that often go viral and leave viewers stunned. Adding to the list of such shocking and notorious stories, a fruit vendor from Bengaluru committed multiple two-wheeler thefts across the city to help his friend’s wife, who is a breast cancer survivor. As per a report by the Times of India, the fruit vendor-turned-thief is identified as Ashok. He was apprehended by the Girinagar Police for stealing two-wheelers recently.

During the police investigation, Ashok revealed an unexpected motive behind his crimes. The Bengaluru Police revealed that the bike thief used all the money from his crimes to finance the cancer treatment of his friend’s wife, who worked at a telecom services provider company.

The 33-year-old accused from Soladevanahalli called it an act of gratitude as the couple gave shelter to the accused at a time when his wife deserted him a few months ago due to his involvement in crimes.

Ashok was arrested along with Satish alias Sathya, a resident of Byadarahalli. A team headed by sub-inspector Manjunath KD zeroed in on the duo while investigating the theft of a bike (Bajaj Pulsar 220) on July 26. The bike belonged to Nikhil ER, a software engineer from Giri Nagar II Phase near Shakthi Ganapathi temple.

The media outlet further reported that the bike thief’s primary targets were Pulsar and KTM motorcycles. While Ashok is involved in 15 criminal cases and was released from jail a month ago, his 40-year-old partner Satish has over 40 cases, including serious offences like murder, robbery, chain snatching, and thefts. Both were apprehended, and the cops have seized a total of eight bikes from them as of now, which is worth around Rs 10.7 lakh. Satish and Ashok stashed the stolen bikes in an empty place near Byadarahalli while they looked for prospective buyers.

Upon further questioning, the duo also revealed that they committed crimes during the night by breaking into locked houses and stealing two-wheelers.

Another shocking incident unfolded in Rajasthan after a villager from Balotra committed half a dozen crimes to prove himself alive. The criminal, identified as Baburam Bhil, had received a death certificate for his name, and after that, he tried a lot to get it corrected. But when nothing worked, he chose a different path to prove himself alive in the eyes of the law. He started carrying a petrol bottle and knives in the Chuli Bera Dharana School of Balotra district to spread terror a few days ago. He also attacked two teachers and a parent with deadly weapons. His bizarre technique worked, and the accused is now in the news across the state.
