A man from Gujarat reviving a lifeless snake through Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) has caught the attention of social media after his video went viral. Yash Tadvi, a wildlife rescuer from Vadodara, received a call about a one-foot-long chequered keelback snake which was found lying inactive. When he reached the spot, he observed the snake’s condition for a while and did not see any movements. Despite the snake’s apparent lifeless condition, he remained optimistic and tried his best to revive it.
“When I went there, the snake was in an unconscious state. There was no movement, but I was confident that the snake would survive,” Tadvi told NDTV.
As seen in the viral video, without any second thought, he started doing CPR on the snake. Gripping the snake by its neck and pulling its jaws apart, he blew air into it for around three minutes. At first, he appeared to be toiling and struggling, as after the two preliminary attempts there was no sign of revival. However, on his third attempt, the snake made a little movement.
The shocking rescue video proved Tadvi’s determination and professionalism. The video has left the social media users quite surprised with many praising Tadvi for his daring act.

After the successful operation, the revived snake was handed over to the local forest department, as reported by NDTV.
This is not the first time such an act of animal-friendly gestures has gone viral.
Earlier in May, another video of a similar kind gesture from Uttar Pradesh went viral. Head Constable Vikas Tomar of Chhatari police station of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, gave CPR to a baby monkey, which fainted due to extreme heat on May 24.

The incident occurred as a severe heat wave prevailed in several areas of northern India. Tomar received a call on the phone regarding a baby monkey that had fallen from the tree due to sun-stroke.
The video begins with the head constable performing CPR on the unconscious monkey. Then he is seen prodding water on the animal. In the last few seconds of the video, the monkey eventually wakes up and the cop then drenches it with even more water.
