Indian Railways cautions people against crossing railway tracks at all times. Trespassing on railway tracks persists even after the removal of unmanned level crossings and multiple warnings by railways. Many individuals continue to disobey safety precautions, oblivious to the possibility that doing so could put their lives in danger. That is what this video of a train going over a woman shows. However, she miraculously escapes unhurt despite several coaches of a goods train passing over her. The video that was shared on X on August 26 has gone viral and left internet users in shock.

Take a look at the video here:

Telugu news channel Aadhan Telugu has released the video on X, where a tribal woman can be seen unhurt as a goods train ran over her. The woman escaped as she positioned herself in the middle of the tracks and stayed very still on the gravel. The 30-second clip began with a goods train moving slowly through a junction in Navandgi, Telangana’s Vikarabad district. The camera zoomed in on the track where the woman was seen lying flat as the goods train passed above her.

According to reports, the incident took place at the Nawandgi Railway Station in Telangana. The woman was crossing the tracks on her way to a platform with her friend when the two noticed the train approaching. While one of them crossed the track, this woman was left behind.

At one point she tried to lift her head, but a man who was filming the incident advised her to keep it down. After a tense few seconds, the train passes and she safely gets up from the tracks. Her companion, another woman, was seen waiting beside the tracks.

Indian Railways offers a long list of safety procedures for travellers visiting train stations. As per a railway protection force (RPF) official, the practice of crossing tracks is punishable under Section 147 of the Railways Act. “No one should cross the track at any time,” an official noted, adding that the public must use rail overbridges, subterranean subways, and foot-over bridges to cross railway tracks, according to The Hindu. The list also advises individuals not to wear or remove earbuds near the tracks as music can distract them.
