Kerala Woman Gives Birth On KSRTC Bus, Gets Assisted By Hospital Staff in Viral Video

A woman, aged 37, delivered a baby girl aboard a KSRTC bus travelling through Peramangalam, Thrissur. Originating from Malappuram, she was en route from Thrissur to Thottilpalam, Kozhikode, when she went into labour shortly after passing Peramangalam. The bus promptly diverted its route and rushed to Amala Hospital in Thrissur, where she was already in an advanced stage of labour upon arrival.

The bus arrived at the hospital’s entrance, where passengers disembarked, and the medical staff swiftly sprang into action. A video circulating online vividly captures the urgency and coordination as the bus pulls up, with hospital personnel mobilising to aid the expectant mother. The hospital had been alerted in advance, ensuring that the necessary assistance was ready upon the bus’s arrival.

Doctors and nurses wasted no time and conducted the necessary procedures within the confines of the bus itself, showcasing their efficiency and preparedness. From bandages to blankets, all essential supplies were promptly brought to the bus’s entrance, ensuring that everything needed for the delivery was readily available.

Following the successful birth, both the mother and the newborn were admitted to the hospital for further care. A spokesperson for Amala Hospital praised the timely and decisive actions of the KSRTC staff and healthcare workers, emphasising, “As the KSRTC staff realised that the lady was experiencing pain, she was brought to the hospital. The bus reached her by 12.30 in the afternoon. The delivery was almost completed. The doctors and nurses helped to take the child out.”
