Since the release of Apple’s Vision Pro virtual reality headset, it has rapidly gained popularity. Scenes of people immersed in their headsets, even in public spaces, have become commonplace on social media. Despite the concerns regarding disconnection from reality, such instances seem to have become the new normal. One such moment was recently captured in the tech capital of India— Bengaluru.
At a time when the Apple Vision Pro headset has become a new sensation in tech circles, it was clearly impossible for Bengaluru to not catch on. The video now doing rounds on social media shows a man trying out the VR headset in public and enjoying a virtual dining experience. In the video, the man can be seen seated inside a cafe wearing a headset as he enjoys a beverage in the virtual world. The video also shows the man making hand gestures, seemingly interacting with the VR technology and exploring various activities.
Along with the video, a caption was added that read, “Indian tech bro testing some cool shit. @peakbengaluru moment.”

This video came weeks after, in another Peak Bengaluru moment, a man named Varun Mayya was spotted testing the Apple Vision Pro headset on the streets of Indiranagar. A user shared the video on social media and wrote, “bumped into @waitin4agi_ while he was playing around with his vision pro on the streets of indiranagar gotta be a peak bengaluru moment.”

As expected, the post garnered a lot of reactions on the internet, leaving users divided over the “new normal” of virtual reality. A user wrote, “Eye doctors better be prepared for what’s coming,” while another one commented, “Vision Pro zombies have arrived in the streets of @peakbengaluru.”
Meanwhile, this isn’t the only peculiar incident caught on camera featuring individuals engrossed in their Vision Pro headsets in public. Numerous clips circulating online depict people walking along streets, browsing malls, dining at restaurants and even driving while wearing the VR devices. Such behaviour has sparked worries regarding safety, potential health repercussions and the increasing detachment from reality. Priced at over Rs 2 lakh, Apple’s Vision Pro headset offers a plethora of advanced features promising users an immersive virtual adventure.
