There is something oddly comforting about someone fully assembling a detailed Lego set. Now, one such video that shows a woman assembling a special Lego set based on the layout of Nobita Nobi’s house from the popular anime Doraemon is raking in likes. Indonesian digital creator @paulinekharisma shared the video and it showed her assembling the Lego set that covered all rooms of Nobita Nobi’s two-floor house. The intricate design also came with a small bulb that would light up. The digital creator admitted that it took her five days to complete the set from start to finish. Her video has gathered over five lakh likes since it was posted on December 25.
Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “My inner child wants this.” Another person wrote, “IM 22 but still dying to have this.” A person remarked, “You can’t prove me wrong if I say Indians have watched Japanese cartoons like doraemon, shinchan, Pokemon etc more than Japanese people themselves.”
The Lego-branded toys consist of interlocking brick-like parts. These are manufactured by the Danish toy production company LEGO Group. LEGO Group often introduces special edition sets based on TV shows and even celebrities. For instance, this year the company released a special set that was based on K-pop group BTS’s Dynamite music video set.

On September 1, 2019, LEGO Group marked the 25th anniversary of the famous TV show Friends by releasing a ‘Central Perk’ themed set. This set came with the classic orange couch, and mini-figures of Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Monica. The 1,079-piece set also had pieces that formed items like Phoebes’ guitars, Monica’s muffin, and even Gunter’s broom. It was sold for $60 (approximately Rs 5,000).

In May 2022, industrialist Anand Mahindra tagged the LEGO Group in a post and suggested that they build a set based on a photo that captured the colourful cityscape of Shimla. The photo shared by Mahindra made it look like that the Shimla houses were made of stackable Lego pieces. While sharing this picture, Mahindra wrote, “Hey @LEGO_Group, How about a Shimla-inspired Lego set?
All on the verge to collapse, recent studies shows Shimla is so vulnerable at the moment and anything can happen in time to come due to illegal constructions— Rajat Sharma (@officialrajat_) May 18, 2022
Interestingly, even as Mahindra’s post gathered over 14,000 likes, many people commented that the photo highlighted the relentless construction in Shimla which is not good for the hill town’s ecology. An X user wrote, “All on the verge of collapse, recent studies shows Shimla is so vulnerable at the moment and anything can happen in time to come due to illegal constructions.”
