Viral videos of human-wildlife conflict are frequently posted on the internet. While it is common to see animals fighting with one another, seeing these wild species charging humans can be more frightening. Recently, a clip showing a terrifying encounter between a man and a Gaur in a residential neighbourhood surfaced on the internet.
The viral clip, posted by IFS officer Parveen Kaswan on X (Formerly Twitter), showed the Gaur tossing the man in the air after he provoked it. The man appeared to avoid the onslaught, but in vain. Despite many warnings, the man irritated the Gaur, making it enraged. What happened next was a scary scenario in which the wild animal charged at the man and flung him up in the air. Although the man had multiple injuries, he is currently safe, as per the post.
The officer wrote, “In Hindi there is a saying – Aa bail mujhe maar. Here is practical. This person even after warning provoked an adult Guar – putting everybody in danger. Gaur went into a residential area. Happened before our team reached. Our teams reached & rescued the animal. With much difficulty though. Don’t provoke Wildlife unnecessarily. It is dangerous.”

The IFS officer added that every wild animal has a safe distance. When a person violates that, people feel intimidated. And animals such as Gaurs are nervous, exhibiting strange behaviour. This causes injury to both wildlife and the general public.
Every wildlife has a safe distance. When you breach that they feel threatened. And animals like gaurs are neurotic, they behave in confusing way. Which results in injury to wildlife and public. In above case our teams were able to conduct the rescue operation in crowded…
