Thalapathy Vijay marked his 50th birthday on June 22. Fans organised numerous events to celebrate the occasion, but one event in Chennai took a tragic turn when a young boy accidentally set his hand on fire during a stunt. The incident occurred as he demonstrated his talent for breaking bricks with his bare hands engulfed in flames. Following the stunt, he struggled to put out the fire and cried out in pain. Nearby, a bystander tried to assist but mistakenly used a flammable substance instead of water, inadvertently escalating the situation.
As a safety precaution, the organiser had even placed a fire extinguisher nearby, though it was only used once the situation worsened. Soon after the video started circulating online, social media users criticised the organisers for permitting the young boy to perform such a hazardous stunt. Just a day before his birthday, the superstar had asked his fans to refrain from organising events due to the liquor tragedy in Tamil Nadu. Despite his appeal, the event was held at Suganya Wedding Hall in Chennai

The victim was identified as an 11-year-old boy named Krishvva from Mylapore. According to The News Minute, Sub Inspector (SI) Balu of Neelankarai police stated that the boy received 3% to 5% burns on his right hand. However, he mentioned that no action would be taken against the organisers as the child’s family didn’t want to cause any trouble.
Thalapathy Vijay will be seen in The Greatest Of All Time, scheduled to release on September 5. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the movie also features Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva and Jayaram in key roles.
