Anti-Israel Protesters Take Over Manhattan Bridge, Block Access To Disney World In Separate Protests
Protesters blocked vehicles on the bridge’s upper level and access to Walt Disney World in Florida.

Anti-Israel protesters took over the Manhattan Bridge in New York City and blocked access to Walt Disney World in Florida on Saturday. Protesters were promptly arrested by the police in both protests.

In New York City, the protesters ignored police requests and prevented them from setting up barricades to block their paths as they congregated on the upper level of the bridge that connects Lower Manhattan with Downtown Brooklyn.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) reported that more than 100 protesters gathered on the bridge and blocked traffic. They began their protest rally from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center before heading northwest onto the bridge and into Manhattan. They formed a human chain as they chanted: “We don’t want your f–king war”.

Senior police official of the NYPD James McCarthy said he had to wash his eyes after someone sprayed him with pepper spray, according to US news agency CBS.

“More than an inconvenience, this is a public safety hazard. The NYPD will always protect freedom of speech and protest, but we will not stand for lawlessness!” NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry said in a post on social media site X.

Meanwhile, a separate set of anti-Israel protesters, who said they are from the Florida chapter of Queers for Palestine blocked access to Walt Disney World Saturday.

They were promptly arrested by the police as they used their vehicles to block the Disney exit of Interstate 4 in Orlando. The protesters were protesting against the media giant claiming that it “supports genocide”.

The protesters held banners across the ramp and chanted, “Free free Palestine”.

An angry parent tried to reason with the protesters but to no avail. “You are losing people to your cause because of this … Think a little bit. You are causing people to actually hate you,” a father could be heard telling protesters.

“Go f–k yourself, genocide sympathizer. Forty-five thousand people dead,” a protester yelled back at him.

What's your reaction?
