The February 23 episode of WWE SmackDown was brought to the fans live from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. With the Elimination Chamber knocking right at the door, WWE SmackDown was filled with some good build-up matches.
The night began with some women’s action as Liv Morgan and Tiffany Stratton faced each other. The two are also set to compete in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match in the upcoming premium live event. The show also featured some tag team action. First, it was the New Catch Republic taking on the Judgement Day after which the Street Profits faced the Authors of Pain. The show ended with LA Knight taking on the Scottish terminator Drew McIntyre in the main event.
These are the results of all the fights on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown:
Liv Morgan vs Tiffany Stratton
Stratton rolls out of the ring right as the bell rings. Morgan next drags her to the ringside before pushing her through the steps. After a commercial break, Stratton lands a forearm but gets countered by several right hands. Stratton next catches a knee to the midsection. Bianca Belair causes a distraction in the game which leads to the referee overlooking Morgan’s roll-up pinfall. Stratton next counters by sending Morgan crashing into Belair then wins by pinfall.
Bron Breakker vs Dante Chen
The match begins with Bron Breakker sending Chen face-first onto the ring mat. Chen fires back with a dropkick but gets countered with a shoulder tackle before taking another clothesline. Chen next lands a jawbreaker and then tries to fly. Breaker then catches him with a power slam mid-air and finishes Chen off with a spear for the win.
New Catch Republic vs Judgement Day
Bate and McDonagh start the tag team action as they lock up. McDonagh lands a shoulder tackle as Bate responds with a hurricanrana. Bate next delivers an uppercut to McDonagh after which Dunne gets tagged in and levels him. Later in the match, Dunner delivers a German supple-rebound clothesline combination with Bate. Soon the New Catch Republic picks up an easy victory off the double sit-out powerbomb.
Authors of Pain vs Street Profits
The match starts with Ford clocking Akam with a dropkick. Akam tries to counter with a few right hands before tagging Rezar in. After some back-and-forth action, Dawkins and Rezar send each other crashing outside before Ford lands an enzuigiri. He ascends to the top but Karrion trips him. Ford then tries to go after Kross but gets levelled by Akam. Next, Rezar tags in followed by the finisher from the AOP to win the match.
Drew McIntyre vs LA Knight
The main event of the night starts with McIntyre and Knight locking up. Knight next delivers a twisting neckbreaker, followed by several booths and a clothesline. After a commercial break, McIntyre recovers to get a few right hands on Knight before delivering a chop onto him as well. Towards the later stages of the match, McIntyre sends Knight crashing into Owens before putting him back into the ring. However, an angered Owens attacks McIntyre, resulting in a double disqualification.
