Kannada movie Tatsama Tadbhava, directed by Vishal Atreya, marks Meghana Raj Sarja’s comeback into films. The actress was on a brief self-imposed hiatus, following the demise of her husband, actor Chiranjeevi Sarja in 2020. She also welcomed their baby boy, Raayan Raj Sarja the same year. Tatsama Tadbhava was released in the theatre on September 15. The cop-based film’s special screening was held recently for the Police personnel in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In the film, Meghana essayed the role of Arika, whose husband Sanjay goes missing after a fight with her. He is then found dead in the basement of their house a few days later, making her the prime suspect in the investigation. The film then shows how the investigating officer, Aravind Ashwatthama (played by Prajwal Devaraj) unravels the mystery behind the man’s death. Interestingly, the team decided to keep the police procedural as realistic as possible, with the setting rarely shifting from the police station and the interrogation.
Tatsama Tadbhava is produced by filmmaker Panaga Bharana. The makers decided to show the film to some real-life cops, including Commissioner of Police B Dayananda and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bengaluru City, CK Baba. After the screening of the film, DCP CK Baba, who loved the film, said that cases of missing people are among the highest recorded every year.
Police officers were happy with the realistic depiction of the investigation in the film and how they solved a dead-end case. The police official also urged audiences to watch the film to understand how cops go about cracking cases. The Commissioner of Police also said that Tatsama Tadbhava effectively portrayed a part of a policeman’s day-to-day work.
According to Cinefry report, the film has closed the first weekend grossing over Rs 2.48 crore.
