So, it all boils down to the timely Kaveri rivalry, two of the most iconic franchises of the IPL will battle it out in their respective matchdays under the lights of the Chinnaswamy to clinch the last remaining spot.
When the lights shine bright, it is only one name from the Anbu-den that shines the brightest: MS Dhoni. The Chennai faithful and the cricketing world as a whole will have their eyes set on the talisman keeper-batter to put on one final show as the aging superstar nears retirement.

Former RCB bowler and Indian international Varun Aaron himself expects nothing less than a show from MS Dhoni, as the pacer believes that it is the biggest of occasions where the talisman CSK veteran thrives.
“I have a feeling it’s going to be the MS show this game, because it’s all building up to this. I just feel it’s going to be that way because he loves the Chinnaswamy Stadium,” stated Aaron whilst speaking to Star Sports.
“He’s played some epic innings there. I remember him pull up some crazy even once they fell short by by one run that last over against Umesh Yadav, which is actually etched in my memory. I never forget that he scored 20-21 runs single-handedly of the last over, so MS Dhoni at Chinnaswamy stadium is really, really dangerous.”
Much conversation has been around the fitness of Dhoni, who has been reported to be dealing with back issues, hindering him from batting higher up the order. But, Aaron believes that such obstacles will not stop the WC-winning skipper from performing.
“Also. He’s one of those guys who has a really high pain threshold and bites the bullet make sure he forgets about his injury,” added Aaron.
Dhoni’s record at the Chinnaswamy is no laughing matter either, as in the 9 matches he has played against RCB there, the CSK man has scored 376 runs at an average of 125.33 and a monstrous strike-rate of 184.31.
Given the talisman’s quickfire showcases this season, and the importance of the occasion, one can surely not write off Dhoni from stealing the limelight once again if the chance is given to him, and lead his beloved CSK to the playoffs in some fashion.
