The National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to conduct the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) session I examination in June. As per the NTA examination calendar for the academic year 2024-25, the competitive exam is likely to be held between June 10 and June 21.
According to media reports, the registration window for the UGC NET June 2024 session is expected to be opening by April. Following the registration process, city slips and admit cards for the registered candidates will be released. However, the official announcement is yet to be made by the authority.
Once the portal commences accepting applications against the UGC NET June Session, candidates can visit the official website of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.nic.in to register themselves.
UGC NET June 2024: Eligibility Criteria
As per the official website, the candidate applying for the UGC NET examination needs to have a Master’s degree in any of the disciplines with a minimum of 55 per cent marks from UGC-recognised universities and institutions or equivalents. On the other hand, the candidates belonging to the reserved category of OBC/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender need to have the same degree with at least 50 per cent marks.
For the candidates applying for JRF, the upper age limit set by the UGC is 20 years while there is no age limit for the candidates applying for assistant professor. Additionally, NTA also provides relaxation to the candidates from the reserved categories of OBC, ST/SC, Transgender, and Women as well.
UGC NET June 2024: How to apply?
Step 1: Visit the official website of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the ‘UGC NET 2024 application form’ link on the homepage.
Step 3: Register using the required credentials such as email ID and mobile number.
Step 4: Fill out the application form with the relevant details.
Step 5: Upload necessary documents and pay application fees as per category.
Step 6: Review and ‘Submit’ the application.
Step 7: Download the confirmation page and keep a hard copy of the same for future reference.
UGC NET June 2024: Application Fees
As per the official website, the application fee for candidates from the general category is Rs 1,100 while for the OBC candidate, it is Rs 600. On the other hand, for candidates belonging to the reserved category like SC/ ST/ PwD, the application fee is Rs 275.
