Jammu:As the new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir takes oath, a sleepy village in Doda district has woken up to celebrations says IBN stringer Tahir Nadeem Khan.
Soti village, in Bhadewah Tehsil, where Ghulam Nabi Azad was born in 1949, is upbeat.
The villagers are celebrating Azad?s appointment irrespective of what party they belong to.
Still cut off from the rest of the world, the village can only be reached by a road that is not much used.
After the motorable road to Changa village ends, a difficult five km trek to Azad's village begins.
A rough stretch leads to the house where Ghulam Nabi Azad was born 56-years ago and where the new Chief Minister?s clan is busy rejoicing.
There is no college in the village and the amenities are basic but the village is hoping that things will change for the better with Azad?s appointment.
For now though, the celebrations are on in full swing and the mood is upbeat.
