Known as one of the most beautiful actresses ever in South Indian movies, Malayali actress Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai will be breaking many hearts if reports about her impending marriage are to be believed.
Once asked about her marriage plans, Shobana had replied that she did not want to marry a "Mr Shobana" and had said she would wait for the right man.
Seems like the actress and Bharatanatyam dancer has found her man in Rahul Mehra, a businessman from Jharkhand.
The two reportedly met in an Internet chat room and fell in love after being friends for a while. No marriage date has been set so far.
While she has been a popular name down south, mainstream Hindi movie-goers got a glimpse of her talent in Revathi's beautifully directed English movie, Mitr, My Friend.
Shobana won her second National Award for the movie, her first one being for the Malayali flick Manichitrathazhu, opposite Mohanlal.
Coming from a family of renowned dancers - she is the niece of Travancore sisters Lalitha, Padmini and Ragini - Shobana has acted in over 150 movies in five languages. She also has the distinction of having given a Bharatanatyam performance in Kuala Lumpur before the King and Queen of Malaysia.
In 2006 January, Shobana was honoured with the Padma Shri for her significant contributions to cinema and Bharatanatyam.
