BANGALORE: After protests at the recently-concluded PGET counselling by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), there is a fresh controversy surrounding the admissions at a citybased medical college.
On Wednesday, Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, denied admission to nine government quota students, stating nonavailability of seats. According to a senior officer from the Medical Education Department, out of nine, three students are from inservice category and the rest from general category.Apparently, the college authorities have stated that the government seat matrix was not in line with the consensual agreement and hence, these students were not admitted to the college. At the same time, the college has admitted all the students in the premedical and paramedical seats.
