KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the City Police Commissioner to continue the protection provided at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Edappally, for its smooth functioning.The Division Bench comprising Justice Pius C Kuriakose and Justice K Harilal passed the order while considering a petition filed by Swami Poornamrithanandapuri, General Secretary of Matha Amrithanandamayi Matt seeking police protection. The court also directed the police to complete the investigation and file the final report as early as possible on three cases registered in connection with a strike by a section of nurses pressing for various demands. The court further directed the police to ensure the safety of the staff of the institute who have not participated in the strike.
