Cotton for all seasons

Cotton Council of India (CCI) celebrated cotton using the most ubiquitous of cotton garments --- the humble yet stylish t-shirt. Teezing, the third edition of t-shirt design competition by the CCI was conducted at the Press Club on May 25, offering a platform for the city’s denizens to explore their creative side. “This competition is a platform that brings together creativity, innovation, fashion and redefines cotton for today’s generation. Our aim is to inspire people to visualise cotton in different ways with the theme ‘cotton for all seasons’ and we are hoping to see a lot of unique designs,” said Agnieszka Fijol, a CCI representative. He further added, “We have joined hands with the Smile foundation for this competition.” Speaking for Smile Foundation, Harish Nandan Sahay, director operations, Smile Foundation said, “This is for the second time that we are getting into an association with the CCI for TeeZing and we are thankful to them for the opportunity they have given us to reach out to children with another joyful intervention.” The CCI has also joined hands with various renowned designers across seven cities, Kedar Maddula being the one from this city. The designer was present at the event to share tips with the children on sketching and to help them interpret the theme of the competition. B Sravan, one of the kids from the Smile Foundation opined, “This competition is interesting and I got to know about the benefits of wearing cotton clothes. I drew a picture of cotton tree.”
